Friday, February 28, marked a significant milestone for me in more ways than one. Releasing my twelfth book on the very last day of the month felt like an incredible achievement. Twelve books—that number still amazes me. Each one represents countless hours of writing, rewriting, doubting, pushing forward, and, ultimately, sharing a story that I hope readers will cherish.
What made this release even more special was how I got to celebrate it—not at a desk, not in front of a screen, but at Minute Maid Park, sitting beside my favorite pitcher—my son—as we enjoyed hot dogs and nachos and watched three college baseball games under a perfect blue sky.
There’s something magical about the crack of the bat when it connects with the ball, the way the sound echoes through the stadium. The murmur of the crowd rises into a roar as a hit sends a runner home. The sun warms our skin as we lean forward in our seats, sharing smiles, making predictions, and enjoying a moment I know will live in my heart forever.
I love my son with a depth that words can’t quite capture.
He’s my greatest pride and joy. Watching him enjoy the game he loves, seeing his eyes light up as we analyze plays and discuss pitchers’ strategies—it’s a gift I never could have imagined when I was still sitting behind a desk in corporate America, dreaming of something more. Back then, I couldn’t have envisioned a day like this. A day when I wouldn’t have to count down the minutes until lunch or sit in traffic to get home in time for a couple of stolen hours of family time.
Now, because of the stories I write, the readers who cherish them, and the incredible support I receive, I have the freedom to choose days like this. Days when I don’t have to rush. Days when I can truly immerse myself in a moment, knowing it will remain with me long after the last inning ends.
To everyone who has ever picked up one of my books, followed me on social media, listened to my podcast, or simply cheered me on from a distance, thank you. You are the reason I can pursue what I love and enjoy these moments.
This day, this memory, this life I’m building for my children means everything to me. ❤️
